Michael Janich's YoJumbo builds on the success of his trendsetting Yojimbo 2 design, scaling it up by more than 20 percent and refining its ergonomics to fit a wider range of hand sizes. The newest expression of this formidable design renders its dramatic Wharncliffe blade in Spyderco's proprietary CPM SPY27 blade steel. This cobalt-enriched particle-metallurgy stainless steel is exclusive to Spyderco knives and delivers an outstanding balance of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. The deeply hollow-ground blade of the YoJumbo takes full advantage of these qualities and features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. Its open-backed handle is built on a framework of skeletonized stainless-steel liners that minimize weight while providing a solid foundation for its high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are nested within coarse peel-ply-textured G-10 scales that proudly showcase a cobalt-blue color-one of the signature handle colors of Spyderco's CPM SPY27 family.
